Advantages
- Moderate cost
- Ease of application
- Ease of cure
- Ease of repair
- Good flexibility reducing danger of cracking in cold or temperature changes
- Chemical and permeation resistance superior to soft rubber within temperature limitation
Disadvantages
- Not oil resistant
- Not flame resistant
- Limited abrasion resistance
- Temperature limited to 180°F
Uses:
- Anywhere soft rubber would be suitable except for its lower temperature and permeability resistance.
- Suitable for trailer tanks where occasional bleach or caustic loads may be handled (not constant)
- Acid pickling tanks where brick sheathing is used
- Plating tanks (nickel, copper, cadmium), hard rubber is preferable
Do not use:
- Where oil or solvents are present
- For tumblers or vibrators
